Navigating the New Moon Energies

Updated: Jan 25, 2020

Happy New Moon week, the first one of 2020, in Aquarius Friday 24th January at 9.41pm in the UK. 2020 is going to be the year we really see a change in the world as energy medicine and the ancient sacred arts take their rightful place in our world once more.

We are all unique in our experience with the moon cycles, dependent on birth dates, our thoughts, our desires, surroundings and belief in ourselves. Be ready for unexpected changes, watch your reactions this week, crazy behaviours will surface. It all depends on how you deal with what comes your way, be very aware of how you react, especially for the first two weeks of this cycle. Some will encounter uncertainty, heightened anxiety and insecurity, know that it is the new moon energies 'shaking us up', so that we act on our dreams. Mood swings will surface, be sure to question your thought patterns and behaviours.

Follow your heart, your intuition and send yourself extra bundles of love and patience at this time. Staying focused will see you attract greater luck, love and financial abundance. React quickly to changes that present themselves and know it is all happening for a reason. Keep your standards high, especially in relationships with others. Trust in yourself, be decisive and enjoy the ride.

Don't change who you are to 'fit in' or please others, stand your ground. This phase will require some sacrifice and new levels of commitment from you. Time to get planning those goals and go after what you previously thought was impossible / out of your reach. The shifts provide many of us with increased energy and intuition to make the changes to live our life purpose and attract all we dream of.

Suggested Goal Setting Ritual:

Have to Hand:

  • Smudging sticks, Incense, Frankincense or Palo Santo

  • Candles & Lighter/Matches

  • Your Favourite Notebook / Moon Diary & Pen

The Process:

  • Find a quiet space to work through this ritual.

  • Sage the area and yourself, the whole body, in a figure of 8

  • Light your candle(s)... even if you are doing this in daylight, as it invites in positive energies

  • Ground yourself, such as using a sequence of deep breathes, to bring about feelings of calm & serenity. You can also do the breathing exercises here: Youtube Video.

  • Listening to calm, relaxing music can aid the process

  • Record each New Moon Goal in your notebook, preferably with the date & time, so you can refer back to each month's notes.

  • Set intentions, words of your choice. I tend to use "I accept these exciting new developments, people & situations into my life today & believe that everything happens for a reason & for the highest good of all."

  • Then list all your hopes, dreams & desires from one to an infinite number of items, whatever comes to you!

  • It is a wonderful idea to return to the list throughout the month & as you achieve each goal / dream / desire you then re-write the list without this item & add anything else that has come to mind. Our wants, needs & desires change as our priorities & perspective alters.

  • A Vision or Mood Board displayed in your home is a great way of starting the manifesting process.

  • Do this every month, with a new list: even if it contains some of the same items, it is key to start a fresh each month and work through the personal goals

This is the perfect time for a fresh start and to get those new projects underway. Remove all self-doubt, aim high, with gratitude for all you have and are manifesting during this moon cycle. Release any anger, frustration and pain blocking your way. You have the power and courage to achieve anything.
