The Amazing Power of Sound Healing

Having been on this spiritual journey for some years now, I wanted to write about one of my most favourite and relaxing therapy techniques that I am forever thankful to have it in my world, Sound Healing. Sound Therapy is an individual experience and is so effective as it influences our emotional and physical bodies, like Reiki. As I have discussed in previous blogs, emotional imbalances are the root cause of numerous physical dis-eases. Working on our emotional imbalances eradicates the physical symptoms and regular reiki, sound therapy, yoga etc ensures we stay at optimum health.

Daily I use Tingsha Chimes at home, to clear and refresh the energy of my home and the vessel of my soul. Singing Bowls are also excellent for meditation & energy clearing, there are just so many options to choose from such as bells, wind chimes, percussion chimes, healing drums & grounding tools.

I highly recommend Gong Baths as one of the most relaxing and blissful healing sessions to experience. The best one I have attended, so far, was in Avebury, Somerset, the cottage was built very close to the stone circles and you could feel the energy on entering. It was one of the most mesmerising, enlightening journeys I have ever gone on via sound therapy.

Gong baths take place in chilled spaces, often with eye masks to ensure complete darkness and fully clothed. You lay on a mat, often with a pillow and blanket for comfort. On average they take 1 hour and it is common to drift into a meditative state as the sounds are played. Everyone has their own adventure with the sounds, seeing colours, dreaming, releasing emotions and relieving pain. It is good to consume water at the end and throughout the next 24 hours, as grounding and clearing occurs.
