The Fire Horse Year of 2026 is set to be a profoundly significant twelve months in human history, and you have four weeks preparation time. It begins on February 17th and occurs on the same day as a solar eclipse – intensifying the powerful springboard of evolutionary energies.
The last Fire Horse Year was 60 years ago in 1966, and it is fundamental that we review what happened then, as it will help you understand just what lies on the horizon.
1966 was the year the Cultural Revolution began in China, upending institutions, families, education and culture almost overnight. The Vietnam War escalated, triggering mass worldwide protests; Cold War tensions peaked; ideological divides hardened; Civil Rights unrest intensified across America. Youth movements rose while authority was severely challenged. Longstanding norms around family, gender and power started breaking down at scale – and that is the pattern Fire Horse Years tend to carry.
While this may sound overwhelming, remember that breakdown often precedes breakthrough.
This allows you to attune to the magnificent energetic frequencies you alone carry. It is a year of the people: expressing, speaking up and planting the trees of change. Astrologically, Saturn and Neptune are conjunct in Aries three days later – the last time they aligned was in 1989, also a snake-to-horse transition year marked by the fall of the Berlin Wall, the suppression of pro-democracy protests in China, and other significant changes to life.
These two planets coming together in Aries is highly charged energy signifying the beginning of something new – a massive global shift impacting the order of things and how we view our very reality, with the power to either snap us out of or send us further into our delusion of reality.

The Fire Horse Year forces movement, often through chaos. Hence why we improve our inner balance now, in preparation, so we are calm in chaos (the goal of the Innerdance Online, nervous system regulation sessions I offer). The changes 2026 is bringing may be uncomfortable, yet they are extremely beneficial to life in the long-term and usually permanent.
This is why personal care and daily energetic alignment become a profound responsibility for each of us, not a luxury, so we permeate that which we want to see, sense, and feel. Care for yourself by rooting into your being, staying in your body, eating real food, enjoying the simple things – doing everything in joy and love brings in expanded abundance in all forms. Rest when you are called to, and limit how much fear you consume – or generate through your thoughts.
Choose grounding over constant stimulation and care for each other – the stronger communities we are cultivating will soften the hard transitions.
It is a period of mutual aid, shared resources, checking in on each other, our neighbours, everyone, offering skills instead of opinions. Removing any form of complaining – gratitude for all we have and are receiving. These actions are what will stabilise us when institutions feel shaky.
History shows that when systems fracture, people rise. The voice of the people will be heard. How we show up for ourselves and for one another will shape what comes next. Your comfort zone is long gone – we push ourselves into new experiences, doing what we love and with those we care most for. It is a time of acceleration – even 'time' is flying, yet slows when we ask it to – substantial shifts for us all. The fast forward button of your life is ON. No more excuses. Let the magic in.
