Emotional Prep For The Holiday Season

As we come to the close of another year, it is important to make sure YOU are a priority, even in the busy times. One easy way to do this, is to do exactly what you want this holiday season, not what society, habits, or others, think you should be doing. Therefore ensuring you leave 2022 with your sanity, self-love, and personal energy levels in tact. In the past we have been our own biggest abusers, with our thoughts, actions and lack of self-worth taking over, but not anymore.

Throw away any FOMO (fear of missing out), you matter, and so does your mental health and the levels of joy you experience. We are here to live in the here and now, the past is done and future has yet to arrive. What stands out for me are some of the discoveries from Bonnie Ware’s book, the Top 5 Regrets of the Dying, "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me", "I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings." This holiday season let’s make a promise to ourselves to be patient, be compassionate, but also to be true to ourselves.

There is a lot of pressure from all angles and compromise does need to occur, just please ensure that is not at the expense of your own health and wellbeing. You, your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and opinions are of great significance. Make time for you, spend time in relaxation, in whatever form that takes, even deciding 'today is going to be amazing for me' as you awaken helps. Completing your to-do lists, so that you step into 2023 ready, refreshed and unhindered by any pressures is recommended.

Stressful situations can cause a plethora of emotions, extra anxiety can surface, but remember it is how you react that is your strength. Acknowledge how you feel without judgement. worry or pressure from others, review your perception of situations constantly and allow yourself to flourish. Healing hurts and takes time but it is an ongoing process every day. No one can hurt you, unless you let them.

It is crucial to make sure that you are not caught in a cycle of doing what you do not want. If you do not want to attend that event, function or gathering, then don't! There are unfortunately still many narcissistic, jealous souls in the world and because of our pure energies we can be a magnet for them. If you choose to attend, then stop yourself from looking at something in ‘the old way’, based on learned behaviours, so you can thrive, no matter what occurs. Protect your aura/energy field before entering another's energy, this can be via email, phone, in-person, or video call. Remember, we are here to rejoice, celebrate and raise above negativity of any form, let’s have some fun!

Every encounter with another human being sees us confronted with different energy fields, some destructive and at other times, they enhance our journey on Mother Earth.


· When both parties are happy = neutral exchange of energy

· When YOU are angry = the other person steals your energy (No!)

· If they are angry = you STEAL their energy, their brokenness, which you then take on and it can damage your mind, body and soul.

Set personal boundaries, perform protection rituals and stop people pleasing, you matter so much and let’s not undo the healing you have achieved this year by stepping into the wrong energies. Your self-awareness, self-care and self-love at this time will see you soar into the New Year as an empowered, authentic being, here to concur everything you set your mind to. Making your intuition a priority is an amazing skill, I am doing a 5 day Challenge on this soon (17th-21st December 2022), as we head to solstice so that we can hone our abilities and be guided by our inner gps every moment of every day.

A brief summary:

  • Do not react emotionally to another person's stress, how you respond determines your whole day

  • Do not allow anyone to treat you badly, preserve your energy at all costs

  • You are amazing, deserve respect, love and happiness, and if another tries to project their own brokenness onto you, then be sure to walk away or cleanse your energy field at the end of each day, so you are not consumed by their issues

  • It is important to make sure that you are not caught in a cycle of doing what you do not want and then starting the new year exhausted, unhealthy, confused and full of self-doubt

  • Incorporating habits of positivity into your day, slipping away even for 10 minutes, to centre and ground yourself is key

  • Apply self-reiki before you get up, meditate, go for a short walk, read a few pages of your book, whatever brings you back into a calm state of mind, so you have clarity of mind and are better able to not be affected by another's negative energies

  • Be grateful for all you have, do not focus on what you deem to be missing

A great way to dispel 'problem' thoughts and feelings of negativity, anxiety and depression is to make a to-do list of action to reverse your thinking. This can be an extension of the relaxing activities mentioned above, any activity that brings back to calmness. Even taking time to unwind before sleep, such as going to bed 20 minutes earlier to clear your thoughts, meditate, listening to music, or just 'be', whatever brings you peace of mind. Do not react to another's stress or bad treatment of you, remember you are amazing.

The holiday season can be a time of compromise and caring for others, it is just vital to remember your needs too! Being selfish, if only for a short time, enhances your strength, clarity of mind, and patience to deal with the unhealed parts of others, and yourself. Make a plan to enjoy the time on your terms, focusing on what brings you joy and nourishes our soul, whilst caring for others in your world.

This mystical time of year is when the veil between the living and the Spirit Realms is at its very thinnest. As the year comes to a close, we often find ourselves reflecting on our achievements and processing any unresolved hurt, so we are ready for the new beginnings opening up to us. We cannot do this successfully unless we make us a priority. Looking after yourself, raising your vibration daily, and easily emitting powerful, positive vibes aids those around you, so everyone benefits. Be the beacon of light, be the change, that you, your family, and your friends need to awaken more fully to the magnificence of working with the energies within and around you. What has previously been hidden from us, about how to think, feel and enjoy life, at our optimum health and mental wellbeing, is now available to us and can be incorporated it into our daily lives. Learn to work with the moon cycles, crystals (natures medicine) and eating wholesome food that does not involve animals, dairy or sugar. You are health, whole and complete, when you believe it to be so. Manage your thoughts, reactions and ability to self-heal in a magnificent way, and then everything you do will appear easy, full of laughter and love, so you can live in heaven on earth every moment. Learning new ways to de-stress, relax and better handle life's challenges can be a great way to close/start 2023.
